Setup: The following poem refers to a board game called "Risk", in which multi colored game pieces representing armies are placed on a map of the world. The goal is to take over the world by handing in sets of accumulated cards that increase your armies, and by eliminating opponents through strategy and luck. Attacks are carried out by rolling dice against the defender's dice. I always play the red pieces.
The term "FOO" means "First One Out" (of the game).
Three-Way Tie
Another Sunday game of Risk
Blue was the host, not Red
The ones with courage all showed up
The Black stayed home instead
They wanted to taste victory
They tried so very hard
They all were doing pretty well
Then Red forgot a card
Now Red would be one card behind
For the rest of the game
Though he was not the only one
'Cause Purple did the same
The Yellow armies skipped a turn
Purple and Red were happy
For now, the odds were more even
They no longer felt crappy
The other players had a laugh
Because, what happened then,
Red wasn't paying attention and,
Forgot his card again
Then came the war's first casualty
And no, it wasn't Blue,
It was the Green that would receive
The honor of being "FOO"
They thought they'd call a four-way tie
'Cause it was getting late
But then, the Blue opened his mouth
Thereby, changing his fate
No one remembered what he said
No matter, just the same,
They all thought it would be best to
Take Blue out of the game
And so, they called a three-way tie
'Cause Green and Blue lay dead
The winners of last Sunday's Risk:
Purple, Yellow, and Red.
